November 14, 2004, Flint, MI—For the busiest shopping day of the season, Genesee Valley Center promises, from sunrise to sunset, every convenience a shopper might need to have a rewarding shopping experience on Friday, November 26. Called the busiest shopping day of the year, visitors starting at 6 a.m. receive royal treatment.
Nonprofit organizations will gather at Genesee Valley Center starting at 6:30 a.m. to offer coat checking, package delivery and gift wrap. AFLAC will provide Coffee Beanery coupons for a needed break during this fun-filled day of shopping
The new King Arthur’s Castle, indoor playground will provide, for the first holiday season in Genesee County, a soft play area for the children to run off their energy provide parents with a break.
Gemini’s Children Music, out of Ann Arbor, MI, will take the stage in the JCPenney court at 11 a.m. and 2 p.m. to delight audiences young and old. Gemini celebrates with their audiences the fun, warmth, and humor of family life. Kids and adults love to sing along. From start to finish, a family concert with the twin brothers abounds with rousing sing-alongs, hand motion tunes, folk tales, and music from around the world. The highlights of their shows are Gemini´s original, sparkling songs about the everyday experiences of childhood and growing up.
Storytelling will be provided by the “king” in King Arthur’s Castle playground’s storytelling area at 10 a.m., 3 p.m. and 5 p.m. The story of the day is Lars the Polar Bear. The costumed character, Lars the Polar Bear, will appear following each reading for a meet and greet.
The brand new lounge areas throughout the center, offer visitors a great respite and a relaxing opportunity to enjoy the holiday readings conducted by the actors and actresses of Quixote Productions, a local theater group, in Dickens costumes.
Genesee Valley Center will be open until 10 p.m. on Friday, November 26, Saturday, November 27 from 8 a.m. to 10 p.m. and Sunday, November 28, from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. The center is closed on Thanksgiving Day.
