Tenant sponsors internet access for community use in two “hot spots” of the mall
Flint, MI (DECEMBER 10, 2007) – Genesee Valley Center now offers free wireless internet access to all visitors, courtesy BizStar Advertising and the BizStar Marketing Group, one of Genesee Valley’s long time tenants. Genesee Valley is the only mall in Genesee County to offer this service, which management believes was long over due.
Wi-Fi is short for “wireless fidelity” and is a wireless technology used to connect various computing devises to each other over the air. At Genesee Valley, Wi-Fi has been implemented to enable each customer to connect to the internet in the Center Court, and Food Court areas. A third area located near JC Penny, is planned for spring 2008.
The Wi-Fi access provided by BizStar does not require an account number or any type of pass-code. Any Wi-Fi enabled portable devise that supports standard Wi-Fi 802.11 b or g technologies with a standard internet browser can connect. In most cases, a wireless network card is built into the devise which will alert the user to the availability of a Wi-Fi network. When first accessing the network, users are presented with a terms of use agreement, which they should review and agree to. “These simple terms will help us to ensure a clean and safe environment for our users,” said Marcus Moore, BizStar Founder and CEO.
Signage and tent cards advertising the “hot spots” are now displayed in the mall. While there, look for the BizStar Center kiosk located in the JCPenney wing. Limited advertising space is available.
