(2/1/07) Flint, MI--Genesee Valley Center will launch a new gift card program on Wednesday, February 7, just in time for Valentine’s Day. The new gift card program is part of the new management company, Jones Lang LaSalle’s program through American Express.
“We are excited about the American Express program because service fees for the card are much more appealing to our customers,” said Lili Donaldson, marketing manager.
There will be a $2 charge for each gift card but the service fees will not begin until the 13th month. In the current program through Discover, the fees begin in the seventh month and there was no fee to purchase the card.
“In the long run, if a customer doesn’t use the card before the seventh month, they will save money on the new card,” explained Donaldson
Another new feature is that customers will be able to purchase two different gift cards. The Genesee Valley Center gift card will cost the customer $2 each and can be used at any of the mall tenant locations. The second card, The American Express gift card can be used anywhere American Express is accepted. The cost to purchase that card is $3.95 per card up to $200, $200 card costs $9.95.
“Gift cards offer an excellent way to give someone a gift and let them pick out exactly what they want,” said Donaldson.
The gift card program will be down on Monday and Tuesday, February 5 and 6th in preparation for the new program.
