GVC Receives FOX 66 Green Business Award

Genesee Valley Center is "Thinking Green".  The mall has taken an active approach to sustainability by making numerous changes.  Here are just a few of the "green" initiatives taking place at Genesee Valley Center:
-Recycling Cardboard
-Installing new state-of-the art hand dryers in public restrooms, eliminating the need for paper towels and reducing energy consumption
-Selling reusable, recyclable shopping totes at Customer Service
-Reduced the number of light bulbs in fluorescent fixtures from 4 to 2
- Installed occupancy sensors in public restrooms and mall management offices
-Reduced the HVAC run time
-Changed the hours of operation for the escalators, to reduce energy use
-Using recycled, coreless toilet tissue in all restrooms
-Reduced parking lot sweeping from every day to every other day
-Recycling batteries and fluorescent light bulbs
