GENESEE VALLEY CENTER TURNS SHOPPING INTO A LESSON ON GIVING

Posted

FLINT, MI (11/17/05)--Genesee Valley Center’s Step 2 display in the JC Penney Court will add a warm and giving dimension to this holiday season. For every new pair of pajamas or teddy bear donated, customers can enter to win one of 10 Step2 Toys.

The Center is partnering with Pajama Program.org. Pajama Program is a non-profit organization that provides warm pajamas, books and teddy bears to foster children awaiting homes throughout the United States.

“We have a wonderful institution right here in Flint that gives a home to over 30 children who have been left with no place to go,” said Lili Donaldson, Marketing Manager . “That institution is Whaley Children’s Center. All pajamas donated will stay here in our community, courtesy of the national Pajama Program.”

Genesee Valley has launched this holiday campaign to collect new pajamas and teddy bears to be turned over to Whaley Children’s Center just in time for the holidays. Children and parents are being encouraged to buy a pair of pajamas or stuffed bear while doing their holiday shopping.

As an incentive, for every item turned in at the customer service desk, guests can enter to win one of the 10 Step2 Toys on display in the JCPenney Court. These toys are valued at over $500 each and are life size educational play pieces that make the perfect gift for the winning child who made the donation. The toys have been purchased by Genesee Valley Center and will be distributed to the winners on Monday, December 20.
