FLINT -- Flint Charter Schools will be holding an informational event at the Genesee Valley Center on August 17, 2002, from 10 am-3 pm. The fair will give Flint-area parents a chance to learn just what makes charter schools different and the advantages of attending a charter school. Parents will have the opportunity to talk with representatives from Flint’s Charter Schools, as well as enroll their child for the coming school year.
There are nine schools participating in this fair, covering kindergarten through 12th grade. By attending this fair, parents can see that Flint Charter Schools offer an innovative way of teaching that has brought on much praise in the last several years, and this fair will give many an opportunity to see each school and their own separate innovative practices utilized.
“This is a great opportunity for families in the Flint area to see what we can do for their children. Many parents have no idea what charter schools are all about. By attending this fair, they will see that each of our charter schools specializes in certain areas that we believe are key in forming an intelligent, well-rounded child. This gives us an opportunity to reach out to each and every student,” Woodland Park Academy’s Sandy Graham said.
