Genesee Valley Center Offers Holiday Gift Wrapping Program for Local Nonprofits

Flint, MI--August 27, 2008--As Genesee Valley Center gets ready for the bustling holiday season they invite local non-profit organizations to share in a little of the cheer. Local 501 (c) 3 organizations can sign up for a special program to earn money by having volunteers gift wrap customer purchases.

The program is free of charge and gives 100% of profits collected directly to the participating organization. In fact funds are collected by the organization at the time of service, so all monies go home with the 501 (c) 3 that day of service.

“This is a program that we have had in place on a small scale for several years,” said Kristen Herrick, Marketing Manager, “We hope that by making it public, we will have an organization in the mall every weekend from Thanksgiving through Christmas Eve raising funds.”

The program will run from November 28 through December 24, 2008, and will take place on Friday through Sunday of each week. Shifts will vary based on mall holiday hours and must be staffed by volunteers at all times. Gift wrapping materials are the responsibility of the organization and each must be able to present their Tax ID and proof of liability insurance coverage.

For more information and/or to register, organizations can download a form from the mall website, www.geneseemall.com under “services” and then “community.” Registration is available on a first come; first serve basis.
