Auntie Claus Book Reading and Meet & Greet
November 12, 2004, Flint, MI—“There’s more to Auntie Claus than meets the eye,” are the words of little Sophie in the children’s book, Auntie Claus by Elise Primavera. Local children can learn more at the weekend readings of this book by Genesee Valley Center’s storyteller and actor “King Arthur,” in King Arthur’s Castle playground in the JCPenney court.
Readings are scheduled to begin after the grand opening of the playground and Santa’s arrival on Saturday, November 20 at 11:30 a.m. Readings on Saturday will be held at 3 p.m. and 5 p.m. in the new playground. Following each reading, the character “Auntie Claus” will appear for a meet and greet and an opportunity to take photos. Customers are encouraged to bring their cameras or visit Ritz Camera, a tenant located near the play area, for cameras and supplies.
The story line is about Sophie Kringle’s glamorous great-aunt who lives in a penthouse atop Manhattan’s Bing Cherry Hotel. Auntie Claus disappears every holiday season on a mysterious business trip and, determined to discover her destination; Sophie stows away and follows her.
On Sunday, Genesee Valley Center’s “queen” storyteller will delight audiences during readings and character greetings at 10 a.m., 3 p.m. and 5 p.m.
